BLAGG ►The Best of 2017.

Sharing is caring!

If you ask me, and you apparently do because you are reading this, let me tell you. 2017 was not kind to me in every sense of a word. I have tragically lost a childhood friend, a person you can easily describe as a person everyone should aspire to be. I have changed not one, but two jobs and now I can proudly say that I have found what I had been searching for a long time.

Being a big fan of the quality TV program, I had a few depressions during this year. Mostly because I was too busy doing other stuff, so TV was something that you can dive in after a long day at work, and watch it when you really have the time and patience.

So, without further ado, these are my favorites for 2017.

1.Halt and Catch Fire (2014-2017)

One year passed and I still feel like a lonely nerd when it comes to this show. The last season was perfectly made, which made it even as my favorite season so far. This was mostly because it has a strong sense of being mature and being OK with not being OK. The characters are developed in a sense that you can actually see them as real people. HACF is, in my opinion, one of the best intelligent drama shows that ever existed.

2. Dark (TV Series 2017– )

This one is actually, a newest in a bunch. ’80s trend is still ongoing and I must say, although I understand the hype behind “Stranger Things”, this one had more good points in my book. This is, as I believe, Netflix’s first non-English TV Show. The only thing that I really didn’t like about this show is the music. Ooooh, god, who picks that tunes?? It sounded like some bad commercial!

3. Top of the Lake (TV Series 2013– )

Located in foggy New Zealand’s dense intensively green forests, this Tv Shows follows the story of a missing little girl. The storyline is somewhat usual-the seemingly calm little town on the edge of a world gets shocked by this event, and as the investigation gets further, the investigating officer gets to find out how many secrets everyone actually seems to have.

Although I watched only one season, I can see that it has potential.

4. Broadchurch (TV Series 2013–2017)

Yeah, I like a good detective investigation drama/mystery story, so sue me.

This one delivers great acting, as well as one of the best investigative buddy-bonding stories I have ever seen in a detective show. David Tennant and Olivia Colman really fit well for this show. The season 2 was the weakest spot, but the rest I binge-watched for a few days without any issues.

5. Better Things (TV Series 2016– )

Finally, a mom-daughter show that has some balls! I guess we can thank Louis C.K. on that. A must watch.

6. The OA (TV Series 2016– )

This TV Show is only for the people who believe in miracles and that the world is not only made of what we know.

The best TV Show of the year, and probably, of the decade

Twin Peaks: The Return

This one drove me mad for the whole year. I have bought books, I have watched documentaries, I have analyzed the episodes for hours, I have binge-watched Youtube analysis of the show, I did everything. And I still am deeply amazed an honored that we live in a time where shows like this exist.

Lynch showed us what it looks like when you revive the past without holding onto it. The “Return” was like that in a real sense of a word. This isn’t some desperate money taking reboot like they make them. This was a REAL return.

As a special freaky-fan delight, Chrysta Bell came to Belgrade in December to perform her first concert here. Tammy is what a real woman should be like an elegant, talented and intelligent alien. I loved her! https://youtu.be/UKNZ0zdhc1A

So..That’s it.

Happy New Year, everyone! Have a great time with your loved ones and take care of them.

Best,

Marija
